Native pastures are important for grazing and conservation in South Eastern NSW. Is it possible to graze native pastures in ways that maintain species diversity?

Our presenters  at this webinar are Jo Powells and Matt Lieschke from South East Local Land Services, they have been working on native pasture research and demonstration projects for many years across the Southern Tablelands.

Their presentations will cover topics including:

  • Native pastures, the pros and cons
  • Using fertilisers on native pastures
  • Soil pH and native pastures
  • Managing groundcover, legumes and pasture biodiversity
  • Grazing management for native pastures

The webinar is free but registration is essential.

Matt has particular interests in animal nutrition, reproduction and grazing systems management.

    Paddock Walk

We are offering a separate Paddock Walk on the same topic on Saturday 3 September 10.00am-12.30pm. It will be helpful to watch the webinar before attending the Paddock Walk. On the Paddock Walk we will see an example of a diverse native pasture on a small farm and practice identifying native grasses and monitoring ground cover. The cost for this is $11, register for the Paddock Walk here.

This event is made possible with funding from the Australian Government through the National Land care Program and in-kind support from South East Local Land Services.
