Feral Animal Monitoring and Management

A series of three webinars and short videos have been produced covering feral predator control and monitoring and protecting poultry from predators. The webinars are supported with online information. As part of this project, our members are able to borrow wildlife cameras to monitor feral predators on their property.

The webinars were run in 2021 and the videos are available on the website (see Resources).

This project was supported by South East Local Land Services.

The Small Farms Network Capital Region Trail Camera Loan Program is an initiative to provide financial members of the network short term access to high quality wildlife cameras to use on their properties.  These cameras will help you monitor wildlife and feral animal activities day and night.  The hire period is two weeks, which can be extended if there is no one on the waiting list.

The hire fee is $30, with a $50 deposit which is refunded when the camera is returned. You will need to pay cash for the deposit and hire fee when you pick up the camera.

You must read the terms and condition of the camera loan program here before getting a camera.

You can hire a trail camera by contacting Alice by email. Once you have booked a loan camera your name will be added to the list and you will be contacted with more details.

Instructions on how to use a wildlife camera have been provided by Alice McGlashan. Follow the links below for more information.
